What’s wrong with Smart Meters?

NOT HEALTHY: Acute health problems reported where smart meters are installed include heart palpitations, chest pain, inability to concentrate, feeling faint, headaches, dizziness, irritability, nosebleeds, nausea, sleep difficulties, tinnitus and auditory problems, “microwave hearing” (the hum).

Accumulative long-term exposure to microwave wireless radiation can lead to  chronic neurological and inflammatory illnesses, such as Alzheimer’s, and depression and cancers.  Children, the elderly and those with already compromised health are most at risk of developing acute or long-term illnesses.  Smart Meters can also interfere with medical devices such as pacemakers.

Smart and digital meters also cause  Dirty Electricity to flow through your house wiring, which contributes to health problems.

Smart  Meters and Cell Damage from Pulsed EM Radiation – Our Health at Risk

The American Academy of Environmental Medicine, 19 January 2012: “The current medical literature raises credible questions about genetic and cellular effects, hormonal effects, male fertility, blood/brain barrier damage and increased risk of certain types of cancers from RF or ELF levels similar to those emitted from smart meters. Children are placed at particular risk for altered brain development, and impaired learning and behaviour.

NOT SAFE:  Smart meters have exploded and caught fire, and can cause interference with electronics.   1000’s of smart meter fires: New whistleblower & court evidence (video)

NOT GREEN  Smart Meters are not environmentally friendly.  They are on all day and night and transmitting information every few minutes. Consider the huge environmental cost to produce and install the smart meter grid system – an unnecessary expense as existing analogue meters work perfectly well.  And what cost to the environment of disposing millions of removed analogue meters?

Thousands of studies now show that radio frequency EMF radiation is harmful to humans, plants and animals. In particular, radio frequencies induce stress reactions and genetic problems in plants, trees, insects, bees, animals and humans.

NO SAVINGS: Most have reported higher bills since installation of smart meters in other countries. Also, as stated by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities,  the cost of production and installation will be passed on to you.

NO PRIVACY: Private data about your living habits is collected and this information can be sold to third party marketing companies for profit.

NO SECURITY: Smart meters and the Smart Grid are vulnerable to hacking and remote interference. Your private information can be hacked and your power turned off remotely.

“Then there is the vexed question of data protection and privacy. Experts claim that a trained eye would be able to look at the data coming from your smart meter and tell what time you get up in the morning and go to bed at night. They would be able to tell when you have a shower, when you are on holidays, when you are at home and when you are not. That’s the type of information that would be manna from heaven for hackers, for burglars, for advertisers who want to call to your door or call you on the phone, and to law enforcement who may want to track your movements” Will Goodbody RTE – Smart Meters could Spark Problems if Mishandled – September 2017.
